Winter Chores

Just another winter PITA.
Gotta keep that darn battery charged!!
This retirement stuff is really, really, really haaarrrddd.
GOD we wish we were living where Murray is... NOT!!!

White Shit Happens

So... another 15cm of White Shit... and the snowblower breaks a drivetrain axle bolt. No problem: Da Grouse has had to fix that one before, so I had a couple spares on hand to do the job. Of course, it's tempting to fix it with a blunt instrument (hammer) but then I remember ... I'm a teacher ... and it's a SSSSSNNNNNNOOOOOOWWWWWW DDDDAAAAYYYYYY FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Beautiful night here... freezing rain didn't/hasn't yet come to pass.

Actually didn't think this shot would come out, or I'd taken one earlier of the "Park-boni"... I figured shag it, put the snowblower on da rink like the Zamboni Men had me ridin' the other day.

Even with the Park-boni treatment, I still had to scrape the rink with my MellowWerroYellow bladed shovel. Da Ice is absolute shit for skating on now, but at least Da Grouse is absolutely fine and cold. Now the rink's clear, Da Grouse and I will get the glaze back... I'm thinkin' I'll be the first to get that glazed look!

February 19 - Mandatory Weekly Shovel-Out

No radar can pick this up: 6AM(ish) and shovelling out after two hours of quality time with the snowblower yesterday. 25cm of the White Shit fell on us in the last 24 hours. We get to look forward to freezing rain tonight and 15cm more White Shit on Friday. Tonight, Da Grouse and I will take a couple of hours to shovel off the rink. C'est la vie... I'd rather be above ground and shoveling the White Shit instead of under the ground staring up at it!

... I know you're wondering... I do have extra shovels if anyone is bored. Jens, you should be able to flick a few flakes away with those crutches.
