Don't Run Down the Clown!

Pics from my Thursday-midday ride (unofficial self-granted holiday from my future stars) on a beautifully sunny day. Wore my clown suit (la Vie Claire jersey) to get the gas-guzzlers used to us two-wheelers on the road again... Please don't hit the clown! Cheers, Clownin' Around Grouse

Name that pine

We don't have that kind of pine on our little island in the North Atlantic; being an island we have few natural species of trees and wildlife. We have a dense boreal forest of mainly black spruce
(dominating the background in a lot of my pics) and balsam fir; the bit of pine we have is white pine or red pine.

Got me thinking - one of the few natural wildlife species in a cute little weasel - the Newfoundand Pine Marten (pictured). Is now endangered due to trapping in the early 1900s and now due to loss of habitat... hopefully he'll rebound.

Krummholz trees on the top of the Dunes. The shore Pine (Pinus contorta) is called a Krummholz which is not "american" but German and means bent wood. Murray, you speak English. How do you call this Tree?
