Florence view from across the Bridge

What a superb view on my way home from riding. Usually I can't stop pedaling because I'm trying to get up to 70Km/h down the hill. But hey,
for a good shot I do a lot - Vive le Grouse!

Conspiracy theory #1

Hey Men-

Notice the "W" in the treeline behind me? Is that "Big brutha Dubya watching me", or does that mean "Mitchoo Werro has my back"?

Please advise!

No thought it's MW! And it will always be MW, turn it upside down und you'll see ...

Ice-Bike / My (Lack of) km in 2008

Jan-Feb 2008: 0.1km ... 0.1km to date.

But hey... it's a little slippery 'round here, and I've had some difficulty getting clipped in!

Cheers,
Schta-Ice-Man

PS. Beautiful ride pics... and, no denying it, this Canuck is certainly envious!

Round-rock Schtaimen

The round ones are the hardest to stack, I believe. This is a tiny little >after-world Schtaiman (note he's looking left, with a top hat on a la Grateful Dead logos); he was a bugger to keep erect, yet as I left the beach he was standing firmly and proudly. Have to thank Men for bringing me back to the world of building Schtaimen / Inukshuks. Visitors: Check
out Men's site: www.werro.net for more amazing stonemen.

Cheers,
Newfie Grouse

PS. Sepp; you're art is amazing; love it. Can you or Men translate your title? Thanks, MP.

Bin dra, bin dra numa nit kschprengt !!!

Murray, the title is in swiss.
Hard to translate but here we go:
"am on, am on, only not exploded"
which means something like
"I am working on it, take it easy"

from Tasmania

Uh-oh, Mitcho was here. There are hundreds of cairn towers constructed of smooth, water-worn rocks. Of course we have to balance a few more.

Bear hanging off a bridge

A bear was walking across Rainbow Bridge (Old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit, Truckee) on Saturday when two cars also crossing the bridge scared the bear into jumping over the edge of the bridge. Somehow the bear caught the ledge and was able to pull itself to safety.

Authorities decided that nothing could be done to help Saturday night so they returned Sunday morning to find the bear sound asleep on the ledge.

After securing a net under the bridge ...

the bear was tranquilized, fell into the net,

lowered to the ground

then woke up and walked out of the net.

There is a moral to this story you know; this old bear made a wrong move and found he was hanging by his nails. Somehow he was able to pull himself up onto the ledge where he saw he was in a very bad, impossible situation and what did he do? Yep, he took a nap and sure enough the situation took care of itself while he was asleep.

The moral is that when confronted with a bad situation sometimes the best solution is to take a nap.

It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt

Not only do I not know what's going on, but I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

Thanks for the directions!

Thanks for the directions!

With the help of your signpost, I was able to make it to the Glenturret Distillery at Loch Turret and "The Famous Grouse Experience". Ok, so I may have done some time travel with a certain redhaired lass who somewhere along the timelines said "I do", but we did distill some Grouse for you. Keep it cold until we can get to Oregon!

Thanks for giving me reason to pull out some old photos. Good friends find unique ways to make one smile.

Cheers,

Wish our goverment would do the same. It would keep their mind straight and their hands from spending money we don't have.

Can you see the logo on the hat?

The hairy ones, called Kuchikäschtliklöpfar want to have a game at the Famous Grouse Icefield, sorry I mean at the Christmas Tree Gardens Stadion!

Christmas Tree Gardens!

In Toronto, Canada, the fabled hockey arena is "Maple Leaf Gardens"... in
our backyard, we've build Christmas Tree Gardens, named after the ornament
in the far right corner!

Cheers,
M. Grouse.

PS... Can you see the logo on the hat?

What's Your Comment?

I'm here making up my Midyear report cards wondering... Did Mitchoo do his homework? Was he smokin' in the boys room? What comments would Men get on his report card at midyear? Would he get the 86-84 combo or more like the 27-55 combo? Hmmm...
